CLASSICS FOR CARERS – 3rd May 2020

Come to the Stay at Home Motor Show: a COVID-19 Frontline Fundraiser on 5th May 2020.

CLASSICS FOR CARERS is a unique at-home motoring event that launches its appeal to classic car and bike enthusiasts across the nation, to join a static stay-at-home charity motor show.  The fundraiser hopes to provide some light relief in lock-down, with Sunday 3rd May set to invite owners of motoring machinery to stage a national static event at home. Sharing their passion for motion either online or on the driveway, for the enjoyment of local communities while out on their permitted daily exercise (following social distancing requirements of course).
Springtime typically sees the classic motoring calendar in full swing, with enthusiasts, fans and the industry itself coming together to celebrate and socialise at a variety of shows, races and meetings – often drawing huge numbers to packed out arenas, show grounds and grandstands, to entertain and satisfy the automotive passion of petrol heads.

Coronavirus has forced the vast majority of motoring events and motorsport races being cancelled or postponed. While the government advice to stay home, protect the NHS and save lives is being widely supported, social distancing measures have meant that motoring enthusiasts have swapped time spent at displays and events, for time spent tinkering and polishing at home. The first weekend in May is an opportunity to throw open the garage doors, pull off the covers and join like-minded enthusiasts in supporting the incredible NHS heroes, working selflessly in exceptional circumstances.

Supporting the ‘stay at home’ mantra, Classics for Carers aims to raise money for front-line carers, by appealing to enthusiasts to purchase an event rally plate or sticker for their vehicles (where all profits go to the NHS charity) or make a donation via the event’s JustGiving page.

  • National unity by the classic motoring community in support of NHS front-line carers
  • Static stay-at-home motor event of classic and sports cars and motorbikes
  • Event rally plates and stickers available for purchase – all profits to NHS Charities Together
  • For event details, donations and purchases, see: www.classicsforcarers.com
  • Share participation in the event via social media, using the hashtag #classicsforcarers

Classics for Carers is an entirely charitable event, with funds raised being donated to NHS Charities Together, the membership organisation representing, supporting and championing National Health Service (NHS) charities across the UK.
