Karl Ludvigsen wins the Golden Piston for 2016

Karl Ludvigsen, highly distinguished and internationally renowned motoring historian and honorary member of both the SAH and the SAHB, has been awarded the Golden Piston (Goldener Kolben) for 2016 by the German Forum for Vehicle History (Das Forum für Fahrzeuggeschichte – or F-kubik for short).

Since 2006 F-kubik has made the award at the Bremen Classic Motorshow to honour vehicle historians for exceptional quality of research and writing.

In reporting this award in its 25th Anniversary edition (January/February 2016), Austro Classic magazine (www.austroclassic.com) gave a comprehensive summary of Karl Ludvigsen’s achievements, his books and his many awards, including his receipt, twice, of the SAH’s Cugnot Award – “one of the highest distinctions, worldwide, that a motoring author can receive.”

F-kubik, founded in 2001, is a group of automotive historians, motoring journalists and publishers dedicated to strengthening public recognition of motoring history.  It works on projects with the motor industry, private collections, classic car organisations and events such as the Bremen show. www.f-kubik.de
